Email info@asktorah.org. That is the whole support system: one address, read by a person, not a ticket queue and not a bot. Expect a reply within two business days. There is no phone line and no live chat.

It helps enormously if you include the email address on your account and, for anything about a charge, the date and amount. Please don't send us a password — we will never ask for one.

Who you are writing to

Ask Torah is operated by Ask Torah, a small independent operation rather than a company with a support department. That is why replies take a day or two and not a minute.

What we sell

Ask Torah answers everyday questions about Jewish law and custom, with cited sources. Use is metered in threads — one question plus the follow-up conversation that goes with it. Follow-ups inside a thread cost nothing extra.

• Free — 9 threads a month, up to 6 messages each. No card, no trial that quietly converts.
• Premium, $9.99 a month (or $7.99 a month billed annually, $95.88 a year) — 72 threads a month, unused threads rolling over up to 108, and your full question history. It renews automatically until you cancel.
• Thread top-up, $4.99 — a one-off purchase of 36 more threads for subscribers who run out mid-month. It is not a subscription and does not renew.

All prices are in US dollars and exclude any tax that applies where you are. The current numbers always live on the pricing page.

Cancelling, and refunds

You can cancel a subscription yourself at any time from your dashboard, which opens the Stripe billing portal. Cancelling stops the next renewal and you keep access through the end of the period you already paid for — you are not cut off the moment you click it. You don't need to email us to cancel, and we won't make you.

Thread top-ups are one-off purchases and are not refundable once the threads have been credited, except where the law says otherwise or where something on our end went wrong. If you were charged twice, charged after cancelling, or charged for something that never worked, email us and we will refund it. Please try that before filing a chargeback; it is faster, and we would rather fix it than argue with your bank about it.

Common things people write in about

• You can't sign in. There is currently no self-serve password reset. Email us and we will reset it by hand. This is the case we treat as urgent, because a locked-out subscriber is paying for something they can't reach.
• A charge you don't recognise. Send us the date and amount and we will tell you exactly what it was, or refund it.
• You want your data, or you want it gone. Ask and we will send you a copy of what we hold, correct it, or delete your account and its question history. See the privacy policy. Deleting an account does not cancel a subscription on its own — tell us if you want both, and we will do both.
• An answer was wrong, or a source didn't check out. Please tell us, with the question and what was wrong. Corrections are genuinely useful and we would rather hear it than not.
• Something about the site is broken. What you did, what happened, and roughly when. That is usually enough to find it.

What this address is not for

We can't answer a religious question by email, and we can't give you a ruling. Ask Torah is educational — it is not a religious ruling and not a rabbi. For a decision that affects you personally, ask your rabbi. If someone is in danger, call emergency services rather than writing to us; nothing here is monitored around the clock.
